According to a wide variety of tweets, David Brothers has joined the staff of Image comics as something akin to a guy friday, as the above tweet indicates In addition to his blogging at Comics Alliance and his own site, Brothers has a background in tech writing. Given his sharp insights into the business, bringing him on board as an actual team member seems like a very smart move on Image’s part.
It’s Image’s second prominent hire from the roughly defined ranks of “comics journalists” this year. Ron Richards, formerly of iFanboy, joined the company in January.
Really good news, and happy for David, who is always a smart and engaging read, and knows the business.
Or at the very least, his writing tends to confirm my bias, so of course I think he’s a genius.
Hope he still gets to write ABOUT comics, though.
