Late last month, the October episode descriptions for the Marvel’s Spider-Man cartoon were revealed. With animated version of the “Superior Spider-Man Saga,” that saw Otto Octavius swap minds with Peter Parker a.k.a Spider-Man, having concluded the next story arc begins this Sunday. A teaser released yesterday on the official DisneyXD YouTube channel indicates that we’ll be seeing some new villains, such as Mister Negative and Molten Man, making their debut in the series during the arc called “The Cellar Saga.”

Those who’ve read Dan Slott‘s epic Spidey comics run will recall that Cellar prison conceived by the character Augustus Roman better known as the Regent. Debuting in the Amazing Spider-Man: Renew Your Vows miniseries by Slott and artist Adam Kubert, Regent used the Cellar prison as a front to siphon the powers from incarcerated supervillains. If you look closely and you’ll notice a character and you’ll see Regent, or at least a character wearing his trademark insignia.

Understandably, it’s a more streamlined and simplified aesthetic for animation than the original Kubert design.
