Archie unveils its first Dark Circle line-up
Archie's revamped superhero line, Dark Circle Comics has just solidified its first wave lineup of three ongoings to launch early next year:
THE BLACK HOOD from writer Duane Swierczynski (Judge Dredd, X, Birds of Prey) and artist Michael Gaydos (ALIAS)
THE SHIELD from writers Adam Christopher (The Burning Dark) and Chuck Wendig (Blackbirds) and artist Wilfredo Torres (The Shadow: Year One), THE FOX from writer/artist Dean Haspiel (Billy Dogma, HBO’s Bored to Death) and scripter Mark Waid (Daredevil, Kingdom Come, founder of Thrillbent).

Archie rebrands Superhero line as Dark Circle
Oh man, it's getting dark and edgy at Archie Comics! They've been planning a reboot of their superhero line for a while, with SVP and respected mystery novelist Alex Segura helping out with the editorial side, and now it's getting a new name: Formerly known as Red Circle, the reboot will now be known as Dark Circle -- maybe giving it a bit of a horror edge and playing off the massive success of Afterlife with Archie, the zombies in Riverdale epic.
Archie Comics announces the death of Archie
LIFE WITH ARCHIE, the imaginary time line showing a grown up Archie married to Betty and Veronica in rival imaginary storylines, will end in issue #36 (magazine style) and #36 and #37 in the comic. And as long as you're ending an imaginary story you might was well have an imaginary death, too, right? According to a press release, Archie will die heroically saving another, as this death of Captain America-type bloodied cover shows. The bereaved memories will take place in the second part of the story.
