Marvel Studios announces…something at 2 PM
Marvel Studios is holding a press conference at 2 pm edt/11pdt today and you can follow along at the Marvel live blog, or Twitter or smokesignals, or whatever method you prefer.
While most guess it could be about the 'Batch being cast as Doctor Strange, it could also be about other mystery slots in the movie schedule, or it could be the Age of Ultron trailer that was supposed to officially debut tonight, or about Katee Sackhoff starring as lady Captain Marvel in Avengers 3.
Benedict Cumberbatch to play Doctor Strange
Benedict Cumberbatch will play Doctor Strange in the upcoming MArvel movie.
Some say he is merely "in talks" but we all know that this was fated to be, and it was doubtless some arcane spell cast by legions of Cumberphiles putting a whammy on Joaquin Phoenix—perhaps some kind of spell of confusion that made him think that playing Doctor Strange in the upcoming Marvel movie would not be the best thing for his career.
But now all is right with the world, and the 'Batch will play the sorcerer supreme. I mean, really, is there anyone who didn't think this was perfect casting the moment it slippied in a sigh from a Tumblr user's lips?
Marvel comics come to Kobo
Marvel collected editions are already available on iVerse, and some other digital platforms, and now, Kobo, the Canadian-based device that also offers apps for Mac, Android, and desktop. Marvel periodicals continues to be exclusive at Comixology and their own Marvel Unlimited All-you-can-ead service, but the GNs are everywhere.
What did we tell you about attempts to diversify digital distribution?
Alert! Daily Marvel Event teases NEW event: Inhumans: Attilan Rising
Another day another Marvel event teaser, but this one is DIFFERENT. Instead of teasing the return of a golden oldie event, today's, revealed at EW, is
a new event titled Inhumans: Attilan Rising, with art by W. Scott Forbes.
This is significant for many reasons.
For years, the word on the street has been that Marvel hopes to elevate the Inhumans paving the way for a movie property featuring a band of weirdly powered misfits to make up for not having the X-Men in their film universe. (Fox has the rights and shows no signs of slowing down with the franchise.)

New Marvels retro teasers take us back to The Infinity Gauntlet and Old Man...
We missed yesterday's Marvel teaser campaign entry, and it was a good one. The Infinity Gauntlet, originally by Jim Starlin, and one of the cornerstones of modern comics continuity and readership.
And today's call out is Old Man Logan, by Mark Millar (him again!!!) and Steve McNiven, who draws this image. This one was revealed in a Tweet.
Today’s Marvel Mystery Event: House of M
Today we stroll down memory lane to 2005. People were going to theaters to see Anakin lose his limbs in Revenge of the Sith, the last Star Trek movie wrapped up, and Harry Pottermania was well underway, And four young comedians were making us laugh on SNL as repertory players, Bill Hader, Andy Samberg, Jason Sudeikis and Kristen Wiig.
At Marvel, House of M was all the rage, as Brian Michael Bendis and Olivier Coipel explored a world drawn the imagination of the very powerful mutant known as The Scarlet Witch...events which would spill over the Marvel U for years to come.
In this image by Jorge Molina, Magneto, Wolverine, Gambit, The Hulk Psylocke, Ms. Marvel and that darned Spider-Man are all battling...something. And you'll notice that Magneto is battling a raging...something else entirely.
Daily Marvel Mystery Teaser: Armor Wars!
Yikes for today's Marvel mystery event thing we go all the way back to the 80s! Before there were Events!!! Armor Wars, by David Michelinie and Bob Layton, was one of the original golden age of Iron Man storyline and showcased Tony Stark's penchant for being a hoarder with his armor suits as being a bad thing.
The current promo, by Steve Pugh, shows a bunch of different Stark Armors, including a mecha-szed one blowing a hole through the face of the Statue of Liberty. Nice one, Tony. Also shown: the Hulkbuster armor, West Coast Avengers-Iron Man and more.
Today’s Mystery Marvel Event teaser: Planet Hulk!
Return with us to the simpler times of 2006. Miley Cyrus was an innocent young girl, everyone was racing to theaters to see Pirates of...
Another day another Marvel Mega event teaser — “Years of Future Past”
Via Comic Book Resources, Marvel has added to it's mystery Summer event event, with a teaser by Art Adams reminiscent of the classic "Days of Future Past" storyline in the X-men. And everyone is in their classic 80s mufti too.
