Nice art: Defenders splash pages

0
These Defenders don't mess around. Also, call me nuts, but on the off-chance that this just happened to be the first comics book I ever picked up, I'd rather just read a big old caption explaining who these groovy characters are than read dialog like, "Namor will not let your gamma-radiation based mutation take over, Banner!" Although considering that this is a '70s comic, they probably ALSO said something like that inside even though there was a caption.

Nice art: Joe Infurnari's REED-iculous Richards

In his spare time, the MUSH artist likes to doodle in a series called REED-iculous RICHARDS.

Artist Guillem March's work on CATWOMAN has gotten a lot of attention -- although not for the best reasons. But before he pencilled superheroes book for DC, he had a busy career in his native Spain as a pin-up artist. Now Image is showcasing that side of his art in a new book slated for January. PR below:

Nice art: Know Your Pokécuts of Meat by Sarah Becan

I CHEW you, Pikachu! Sarah Becan has created butcher charts for some of the best known Pokémon and they are both cute and grisly. Bonus prep tips:
Initially considered to be nothing more than an annoying invasive species. Recently it has been discovered that Magikarp hides a light, delicate flavor for the enterprising chef willing to extract this Pokémon's numerous bones.

Nice art: Jillian Tamaki illustrates GOBLIN MARKET

Joe Giella artwork stolen

0
Golden/Silver age artist Joe Giella who worked for Fawcett in the Golden Age and inked things like Gil Kane's Green Lantern in the Silver age, has had some artwork stolen. Jim Amash reports that "A certain person Joe Giella trusted apparently stole a few pieces of original comic art from his house, mostly likely on Sept. 7 and Oct. 13 of this year.  We want to get the word out so that anyone who may have already purchased this work or may be contacted about it will know it's considered stolen property, and hopefully will help get Joe's artwork back to him. A police report has been filed in the case, but spreading the word to the comics art community is absolutely vital."
