Drew Friedman's print shop offers this stunning view of wrestler/Ed Wood Jr stock player Tor Johnson for a mere $150. Friedman's site contains many more prints of a similar quality level: Frank Sinatra. The Three Stooges. JF. Surely you know someone who would like such an object as a holiday gift? If not, you are hanging out with the wrong class of people.

We're not going to plagiarize ALL of Dave Johnson's cover comments...only several of them. He's at it again this time with some cover PICKS:

While Frank Miller's outburst against the OWS protesters might not have been the smartest PR move for him, he was right on the money about one thing: as a cartoonist, he was well qualified to comment. Graphic novels and comics have inspired a lot of the OWS protesters' iconography.

Editorial cartoonist Nick Galifianakis (Carolyn Hax) has come up with a lovely contribution for TEAM CUL DE SAC, the book benefitting Richard Thompson and his battle with Parkinson's disease. The piece provides a lovely tribute to the entire heritage of editorial cartooning.

X'ed OUT was one of 2010's best comics, a fantasmic, multi-leveled horror fantasy by the man who practically invented the category, Charles Burns. It was also an interesting experiment for publisher Pantheon, as it was at a slender 56 pages really only the first chapter in a story. The second part has been long in coming, but Entrecomics has posted what appears to be the cover to part two, THE HIVE. Dunno if it's the real thing or not, but hopefully the next part is coming in 2012.

How would you like to sit in while Anthony Bourdain critiques food or Albert Pujols talks hitting or Herman Cain talks how to look credible in a big sinister fedora? That's the kind of master class Dave Johnson has been delivering on cover design via Twitter and now...a blog. That would be the Dave Johnson who created some of the most iconic covers of the last decade or so. While he may not be making a lot of friends, he's calling 'em as he sees 'em. Here's a sampling:

Just a few days ago we mentioned how digital comics magazines for the tablet are the next frontier, and here's another new one, INK. INK's pedigree is pretty good: it's produced by the students and faculty of the School of Visual Arts in New York, a hotbed of cartooning talent and innovation.The first issue can be read for FREE and downloaded for iPad or read on the web.

Marvel released a few pages of DAREDEVIL art by Paolo Rivera who returns to the book with issue #7. According to Marvel this s a good jumping on point. The previous issue is by Marcos martin so you really can't go wrong here.

Swedish digital artist Kilian Eng is one of the hottest things going in illustration, and he's getting his first monograph from Floating World Comics -- and they'll be holding an opening to celebrate on December 1st at FLoating World. Alas the artist will not be on hand. The book will be available at the Brooklyn Comics and Graphics Festival on December 3.
