BANG! #1, the debut issue of the new action-spy thriller from writer Matt Kindt, artists Wilfredo Torres and Nayoung Kim, and letterer Nate Piekos, debuted a few weeks ago, having already sold out and been sent back for a second printing, which landed in stores last Wednesday. Now publisher Dark Horse Comics has announced that the second printing has sold out, and a third printing is on the way, with a new cover by Kindt’s Ether collaborator David Rubín.

Along with the third printing news, Dark Horse has also announced a limited-edition blank sketch variant cover will be available at next weekend’s Emerald City Comic Con. Only 500 copies of the exclusive variant will be available, sold at the Dark Horse booth for $10 each. Series writer Kindt will be in attendance at the convention, and fans visiting him during a Dark Horse booth signing can, for $15 extra dollars, have him draw a sketch on the blank cover for them. Dark Horse even released a video of Kindt drawing on one of the blanks, so you don’t have to imagine what that looks like:

The first issue of BANG! is, frankly, a spectacular debut for the series, with shocking early twists that reveal a premise that’s long been the stuff of fan theories in online forums. The execution from Kindt, Torres, Kim, and Piekos is flawless, and it’s exciting to imagine where the team is going to take the series as it progresses while also realizing, after this first issue, that I have absolutely no idea where it’s going.

The blank sketch cover variant for BANG! #1 will be on sale at Emerald City Comic Con, which begins (coronavirus willing) next Thursday, March 12th. The third printing of BANG! #1 is scheduled for release in comic shops on Wednesday, April 1st.
