Although a 2022 Christmas Special was a no show, the BBC dropped a trailer of what’s to come for Doctor Who in 2023 – the series’ sixtieth year. The anniversary sees a number of returns with Russell T Davies back in the show-running seat, David Tennant somehow back in the title role and – based on the trailer – Catherine Tate returning as Donna Noble. We also get a glimpse of Neil Patrick Harris as a mystery villain – and so much more. All before the much anticipated debut of Ncuti Gatwa as the Doctor.

Returning showrunner and executive producer Russell T Davies said:

“We wanted to give fans, friends and families a lovely little Christmas present – with a promise that 2023 will be a riot of Doctor Who goodness!”

Jodie Whittaker‘s time as the thirteenth Doctor ended on a major surprise when she regenerated (back?) into a familiar face: fan-favourite David Tennant returns as the Doctor and there are so many questions. Tennant played the tenth Doctor from 2005 to 2010.

David Tennant is back?!
What villainy is Neil Patrick Harris up to???

All will be revealed in November 2023 where a trilogy of three specials are planned to celebrate Doctor Who’s sixtieth anniversary culminating in Ncuti Gatwa stepping into the TARDIS as the fourteenth fifteenth Doctor, with his first full episode of Doctor Who airing “Festive Period 2023” followed by an eight-part series in 2024.

Doctor Who will air on BBC in the UK and Disney+ in the US beginning November 2023.

  1. Jodie Whittaker really got screwed. She morphs back to an AGED DAVID TENNANT then Doctor Donna returns after losing her memory of the doctor and a Nigerian Doctor comes forward – I won’t be watching this woke garbage. I’m disappointed with Russell Davies – I guess he is looking for a new boyfriend. Ncuti. The africans are notorious for anal sex. Worst of all this garbage is going to be in a year-Nov 2023. I’m telling you now – no one is going to watch.
