BBC Studios have officially announced Sethu’s involvement, but did not provide details as to how she joins the team or her character’s name.

“I feel like the luckiest person in the world. It is such an honour to be a part of the Whoniverse, and I’m so grateful to the whole Doctor Who family – because that is what they are – for welcoming me with open arms and making me feel so at home. I couldn’t ask for a better team than Ncuti and Millie to be on this adventure with, this is SO much fun!”

It’s this writer’s opinion that Sethu will make an excellent addition to the team. I’ve only seen her in Andor so far and loved her work there, but I will definitely be seeking out more of her work in anticipation. It’s been exciting to see the cast in front of the camera continue to diversify as the show’s been doing pretty steadily over the years. This is going to be one heckuva of a fun team to follow.

“I first worked with Varada on a BBC production of A Midsummer Night’s Dream, and it’s a joy to welcome her on board the TARDIS. Right now in the studio, shooting for 2025, we’ve got Ncuti, Millie and Varada fighting side by side – we need all three, because the stakes are higher than ever!”

BBC Studios and Bad Wolf Productions are currently filming the second season of Ncuti Gatwa’s era as the Fifteenth Doctor for a 2025 release. His first full season will premiere on May 10th worldwide on Disney+ and at midnight May 11 in the UK on BBC iPlayer.
