With Supergirl making its CW debut next week, and even as far back as the first announcement of the change in networks, fans had begun to figure that the series would be shifted into the shared-universe that The Flash, Arrow, and DC’s Legends of Tomorrow currently inhabit (along with any connected CW Seed tie-in series).
But that’s not happening just yet, says Andrew Kreisberg, executive producer and co-creator of each series. He tells EW: “Not for her entire world, but Kara will be traveling from her dimension to our dimension, ‘our’ being the world that ‘The Flash,’ ‘Arrow’ and ‘Legends’ lives in.”
Perhaps a Crisis-type event could be in the offing eventually given the season 1 tease we saw in The Flash, but for now, Supergirl will remain in her own little pocket universe with the occasional crossover.
