DC co-publishers Dan DiDio and Jim Lee delivered their presentation before retailers at the 2018 Diamond Summit this morning, and revealed some big big numbers.

DC Nation #0, the 25¢ launch of their promotional magazine, has orders of 1 million, DiDio announced, joking that he still had a long way to go to catch up to the 8 million copies of Lee’s X-Men #1 back in the early 90s.

Still, he was beaming over his first million seller.

DC Nation will continue as an insert in the Diamond catalog and as a promotional too for retailers. “We’re trying to rebuild that DC Nation community and build the excitement about our stories,” he said.

Action #1000, the gala anniversary edition of the comic that started it all also has big orders: 500,000 copies have been order via shops. And it’s still not FOC.

The issue will feature the launch fo Brian Bendis’s run on Superman and many other features. ACTION COMICS: 80 YEARS OF SUPERMAN the Deluxe Edition, a big hardcover companion book, has already gone back to press, DC’s Adam Phillips noted.

Lee and DiDIo ran over the presentation that had live streamed at WonderCOn, with news of their many bookstore initiatives – DC Zoom and DC Ink and Black Label – dominating the presentation, although Scott Snyder’s DC Metal spinoffs were also mentioned.

The “New Universe” line that made such a big splash last year here was no where to be found.
