Vampironica — which as it sounds is Veronica Lodge turned into a vampire — will return in a new five-issue mini-series this December from writers Frank Tieri and Michael Moreci, and artist Audrey Mok.

The new book is Vampironica: New Blood, and it also has Matt Herms as colorist and Jack Morelli as letterer. It’s essentially a sequel to an earlier series that was simply titled Vampironica. This one is set after the events and amid the fallout of Jughead: The Hunger vs. Vampironica, which saw Jughead as a werewolf crossing over with Veronica as a vampire, in an event that was obviously destined to happen from the start.

io9 had the exclusive reveal on this one, noting that this will be a story about a Vampironica who is “forever changed” after the events of the aforementioned crossover. There is apparently going to be a giant revelation about Veronica and her family’s legacy as vampires in Jughead: The Hunger vs. Vampironica #5.

So, that’s a big question here. The other obvious question (to me, anyway) is when will any of these Archie Comics crossover with Blossoms 666, which is as it sounds a story about Cheryl and Jason Blossom competing to be the best spawn of satan.

The cover from the new book, which hits comic shops on Dec. 4, can be found below:
