In TKO Studios summer 2021 news, the publisher will debut three self-contained, limited-edition shorts, newly expanded and revised editions of an Image Comics classic and a new fantasy by Juni Ba. All items are available in print at participating comics retailers and direct from the publisher.

In River of Sin (June 1, $2.99), the first of this third round of shorts by Kelly Williams and Chas! Pangburn, a grieving father joins the parents of other murdered and missing children in their small town and takes matters into their own hands when they search for the mysterious and supernatural force responsible for the abductions.

In Roofstompers (June 1, $2.99), a New York woman is attacked by a bear while on a solo hunting trip in Wyoming. A mysterious elderly couple rescues her, but she begins to question their motives when she fails to recover. This rural thriller was created by the team of Alex Paknadel, Ian MacEwan and Hassan Otsmane-Elhaou.

Michael Moreci, Jesús Hervás, and Otsmane-Elhaou’s The Walk tells the story of a team of aquatic explorers who battle for survival after supplies run out on a mission two-thousand meters beneath the Atlantic.

Scales & Scoundrels was originally released by Image Comics in a two-volume series in 2018. TKO Studios has combined these two volumes with reworked artwork in Scales & Scoundrels Book 1: Where Dragons Wander (July 6, $14.99 print/$7.99 eBook). Sebastian Girner and French comics artist Galaad’s multicultural fantasy follows treasure hunter Luvander and her companions in their search for gold and glory.

Scales & Scoundrels Book 2: The Festival of Life (July 6, $14.99 print/$7.99 eBook) continues Lu’s adventures and includes more than 250 pages of original content from Girner and Galaad.

The final book in TKO Studios summer 2021 announcement is by Senegalese-born comics creator Juni Ba. Djeliya (July 6, $14.99) is a fantasy inspired by West African folklore. The story follows the adventures of Mansour Kelta, the last prince of a dying kingdom, and Awa Kouyate, his Djeli (“royal storyteller”) as they travel to meet a wizard who destroyed their world and then disappeared from sight.
