Print comics criticism journal The Comics Courier has launched its fifth Kickstarter campaign today. Led by comics critic and editor Tiffany Babb, the twice-a-year tabloid-sized newspaper is dedicated to in-depth writing about comics.

The fifth issue features essays and reviews from comic critics including Anna F. Peppard, Brigid Alverson, Deanna Destito, Charles Hatfield, Gina Gagliano, Jules Chin Greene, Sam Thielman, Steve Baxi, Zach Rabiroff, Hassan Otsmane-Elhaou, and Babb on topics such as the sex appeal of the Silver Surfer, the joys of Gundam: The Origin, and the complicated poetry comics of Mita Mahato.

The Comics Courier Issue 5 Kickstarter campaign will run from today, November 1, to November 30 at 11:59 PM Pacific. Rewards include limited edition prints from Ben Wickey and Ben Sears as well as a Comics Courier baseball cap.

Babb said in a statement, “I’m so incredibly proud that The Comics Courier is launching our fifth issue. This issue’s team of writers is absolutely stellar, and I’ve already begun to edit the slate of wonderful articles and reviews about all sorts of comics, from superheroes to poetry, and I’m absolutely certain that this will be one of our best issues yet.”
