THOR: LOVE AND THUNDER toys reveal first look at Christian Bale’s Gorr, the God Butcher

Earlier today Marvel Studios unveiled at long last the first trailer for much-anticipated Thor: Love and Thunder film that will not only see actress Natalie Portman return as her character Jane Foster but wielding Mjolnir as Thor. Today Marvel unveiled a slew of upcoming Thor: Love and Thunder toys hitting shelves before the film arrives in theaters this July.

Among the highlights is a Hasbro Build-a-Figure wave that includes Ravager Thor, Mighty Thor, King Valkyrie, Groot, Star-Lord and Gorr which include a piece that can be combined to form Marvel’s Korg, the breakout character of Thor: Ragnarok once again played by returning director Taika Waititi.

As fans noted, the trailer featured an absence of of Christian Bale‘s Gorr, the God Butcher, touted as the main antagonist of Thor: Love and Thunder. Luckily though, the Thor: Love and Thunder merch gives us an early glimpse at the character. Admittedly, the film’s version of Gorr appears to more closely resemble the Engineer aliens from Prometheus as opposed to artist Esad Ribić‘s original design from his acclaimed comics run with writer Jason Aaron where Gorr first debuted.

Besides Thor’s Ravager garb as seen in the trailer, the Marvel Legends figures also reveal battle armor from Walt Simonson‘s acclaimed run in the ’80s. In the comics, Thor adorned the armor himself together after a curse placed on him by Hela made his bones as brittle as glass and unable to heal if damaged; and rendered him truly immortal and unable to die no matter how severe his injuries.

And of course, it wouldn’t be complete with some Funko figure reveals. Miek is back and the new Funko figure confirms earlier leaked concept art showing Miek wearing not only a more feminine exoskeleton but also a professional-looking skirt indicating that Miek will serve as a secretary for King Valkyrie (Tessa Thompson) as she rules over New Asgard.

Most exciting however, is perhaps Pop! Ride of Thor aboard The Goat Boat pulled by Pop! Toothgnasher and Pop! Toothgrinder.
