Next week AHOY Comics will release The Wrong Earth: Trapped on Teen Planet #1, the first in a series of one-shots set in the multiverse of the hit series. The new story, which finds the gritty hero Dragonfly transported to an alternate world that is somehow even more innocent than the world of the main series’ Dragonflyman, is written by Gail Simone, with art by Bill Morrison, Walter Geovani, and Rob Lean, colors by Andy Troy, and letters by Rob Steen. Today The Beat is pleased to present an exclusive first look at the issue’s bonus material, including a pair of pinups and a story and recipe set in the issue’s alternate universe.

The first of five stand-alone, earth-shattering one-shot specials building and expanding on the world of AHOY’s The Wrong Earth, by some of the biggest names in comics! First off: Superstar writer Gail Simone contributes an extra-long story as grim and gritty vigilante Dragonfly is whisked to an alternate Earth of teen-agers, malt shops, love triangles, and school dances! Will this innocent world soften him, or will his violent methods poison it? All five specials will feature a special incentive variant cover by legendary artist Gene Ha (Top Ten, Mae). This issue also features a second variant cover by Dan Parent (Archie). The money-grabbing, multiverse-spanning monthly event starts here!
As with all AHOY Comics releases, and in keeping with the publisher’s “Expect More” motto, The Wrong Earth: Trapped on Teen Planet #1 includes a plethora of bonus material. In this case, the issue includes a pair of pin-ups featuring characters Debbie and Deuce by artist Bill Morrison, as well as a quartet of cocktail recipes from writer David Hyde, with another Morrison illustration.
The Wrong Earth is a fantastic series, and the baked-in multiverse concept leaves the book open to endless (nay, infinite) possibilities, which these new one-shots appear poised to utilize wonderfully.
