Well I don’t know if anyone saw this coming.
We’ve known that Lex Luthor is coming to The CW’s Supergirl for a few weeks now, and now we know what he’ll look like. Entertainment Weekly reports that Jon Cryer has been cast in the recurring role of Lex Luthor. Cryer’s Luthor joins series regular Katie McGrath as Lex’s sister, Lena Luthor, and occasional guest-star Brenda Strong as Lex and Lena’s mother, Lillian Luthor.
Cryer is most famous for his roles on Two and a Half Men and in movies like Pretty in Pink, and most infamous for his role as Lex Luthor’s bumbling nephew, Lenny Luthor, in Superman IV: The Quest for Peace.
In sharing news of the announcement, Cryer seemed to confirm that, like his comic book counterpart, his Lex Luthor will be bald:

No word yet on what kind of car Lex will be driving, but hopefully it’ll have some sweet door-mounted speakers.
I honestly can’t remember Lex Luthor in Superman IV, but I didn’t think he was. I remember this guy though
Ugh. Jon Cryer was born to play Ambush Bug, not Lex Luthor.
What kind of car will he be driving? Too easy…it’ll be a Lexus, of course.
Terrible casting, cryer is only five years younger then Brenda and almost 20 years older then Katie. Doesn’t work unless Lillian is actual Lex’s step mom. That and Lexis supposed to be s strong dominate alpha male not some nerd.
