Fans of The Umbrella Academy Netflix TV show who are waiting for it to return later this year will now have something to whet their appetite in the meantime. Dark Horse Comics has announced The Making of The Umbrella Academy, a new hardcover art book that will provide a behind-the-scenes look at the production of the Netflix series based on the Dark Horse Comics series by Gerard Way and Gabriel Bá. The 200-page book is being produced by Dark Horse, Netflix, and Universal Content Productions.
Here’s how Dark Horse describes the forthcoming art book:
Dive into the development and production of the Netflix original series, The Umbrella Academy, with a collection that features hundreds of behind-the-scenes images in The Making of The Umbrella Academy. Discover how Netflix’s live-action adaptation, from showrunner and executive producer Steve Blackman, successfully translated Gerard Way and Gabriel Bá’s original vision for their comic to the small screen.
The Umbrella Academy Netflix series is a stylish and visually-exciting show, and this art book should provide an interesting look at how closely the people responsible for producing the series adhered to the aesthetics of the comics. The Making of The Umbrella Academy is the latest addition to Dark Horse’s growing lineup of behind-the-scenes art books for TV, film, and video games.
