§ Just to finish up the Oscars, which everyone has probably already forgotten, cartoonist Liza Donnelly live drew them on her twitter feed, and got a big write up in her local paper about it, and also did some nice drawings.

Jhonen Vasquez is a comics superstar, with a huge fan base for his dark gothic creations, Johnny the Homicidal Maniac, which ran as a comics from Slave Labor, and Invader Zim, a cartoon on Nickelodeon. His profile has been pretty quiet of late, but that should change quickly with Invader Zim coming back in comics form from Oni in July. The comic will be written and drawn by Vasquez and published in conjunction with Nickelodeon.

A graphic novel set in the Great Depression era New York, exploring capers at a hotel. SOUNDS GOOD, right? when it's by Jonathan Case...

As Marvel's "Secret Wars" re-something or other rolls on, and Battleworld become a crushed pizza of mashed up worlds, more fan favorite comics are ending....for NOW. If Ms Marvel doesn't come back after Secret Wars I think there would be rioting—or at the very least harsh shunning.

Tomorrow at 9 am pst, noon est the big one gets underway, the Super Bowl, the Kentucky Darby, the Masters -- registering for a 2015 San Diego Comic-Con badge. The day before the big event, the con has posted a The Ultimate Comic-Con 2015 Open Online Registration FAQ and let's be honest, it is made to weed out people who can't follow instructions:

Toy Fair 2015 has long come and gone, and I was there and took 700 pictures. But it took me so long to sort thrugh them that now no one cares. However, I didn't see many people covering these awesome new Bandai toys based on Sailor Moon, One Piece, DBZ and other familiar anime and manga figures,. They're part of the BanPresto line from Japan and they are all limited edition -- in other words, once these are gone, they're gone. Because they look so awesome, you'll probably want to stock up on all of them.

Playmobil is sort of like Lego —it comes in playsets with figures— but while Legos can be used to create disturbing dioramas or even the Bible, there's something even bleaker and darker about Playmobil. Maybe it's the plastic faces, or the smooth landscapes. And to prove it, here are some fan made recreations of this year's Oscar nominees for Best Film. Playmobil Whiplash...you can feel the blood seeping from the hands.

Sorry there haven't been any kibbles 'n' bits this week. It's just been too cold at Stately Beat Manor, and that's the truth. All we want to do is pile on the blankets and chug hot cocoa. But we've been storing things up and now there are so many we must break this into sections.

Now let's get one things straight, even though his Conan relaunch flubbed, Jason Momoa looked hot as Conan. He looked hot in Baywatch, he looked hot in Stargate, he looked hot as Khal Drogo. Graphic novels for children are on a roll these days, and that was backed up by the Children's Choice Award nominations, as reported by the CBLDF blog. Winners will be chosen by children voting online. GN nominees are noted in RED.
