In all the gender controversies rattling the comics world, one of the most frequently cited paradoxes is that although research such as DC's 2011 reader survey showed only 7% of comics readers were female, yet when you walk around any comicksy event you see a lot more than 7% women. Women make up a lot of tweeters, tumblrs, and cosplayers and cartoonists. Why this disparity?

All the way back in April, folks at C2E2 were stunned when there was no DC booth. Lots of panels, but no booth. Whispers were that there would be no booth at NYCC either, but that just seemed unfathomable: no big set up at the home town show? Inconceivable!

Last week WB head Kevin Tsujihara gave a talk to the Bank of America Merrill Lynch Media, Communications & Entertainment Conference and touched on their upcoming slate.
