Brooklyn Comics and Graphics Festival reveals complete schedule

The Brooklyn Comics and Graphics Festival has announced all its programming and several satellite events, including a showing of rare films and two art openings. In addition Françoise Mouly has joined as a guest and will speak. How on earth are you supposed to run around and buy comics AND go to all these interesting panels?

This weekend, among a plethora of worldwide comics events, the Alternative Press Expo in San Francisco is surely the premiere event for alt and indy comics. Headlined by Dan Clowes and Lynda Barry that's probably enough right there, but why stop -- other guests include Megan Kelso, Tony Millionaire, Renée French, Tommy Kovac, Rich Koslowski, and more. If it were less than a plane ride away, we'd be there in a heartbeat.

Buenaventura Press closure reactions

Sean T Collins rounded up reactions from creators and fellow publishers on the closure of Buenaventura Press, and it's all sad, sad sad. WE've heard bits and pieces of the story behind the story, and that's all sad too. Some of it can be pieced together with some googling, but we'll respect Alvin's wishes for privacy at this time and just reiterate out hope that he can continue to find a way to contribute to this golden age of comics art.
