On Friday, the Stranger Things cast dropped a recap video for anyone who needs a refresher on the show’s first two seasons. It’s perfect for fans who don’t have the time to do a full rewatch – or anyone who just wants to jump on board before season 3 drops. Stranger Things’s first season hit Netflix just a few years ago in July of 2016, with the second arriving in 2017. For the many many fans of the nerdy ’80s nostalgia bomb of a series, it’a longtime coming.
So, this fifteen minute video is a nice reunion. Viewers are welcomed back to Hawkins, Indian by Finn Wolfhard (Mike), Gaten Matarazzo (Dustin), Noah Schnapp (Will), Sadie Sink (Mad Max) and Caleb McLaughlin (Lucas). The gang runs us through Will’s disappearance, Eleven’s appearance, into the upside-down and all the way back, trading narration back and forth. The kids even sprinkle in commentary as Sadie Sink wonders why her family moved to Hawkins after the first season’s events. It’s thorough – and fun!
As the show charges onward, its characters and its cast keep growing up. Stranger Things has tried to capture growing up from the beginning , so many fans speculate this latest season will dive into those themes even more. With the shadow monster defeated just in time for a school dance, things were just beginning to look up for our recently coupled-up kids. Of course, Hawkins, Indiana has other plans. The recap ends as Noah Schnapp warns”stuff is about to get extremely real” in season 3.
Check it out for yourself below. Stranger Things‘ next season hits Netflix on July 4. Until then, be sure to check out the poster and retro soundtrack.
