Stone Star, the Comixology Originals sci-fi series from the creative team of writer Jim Zub, artist Max Dunbar, colorist Espen Grundetjern, and letterer Marshall Dillon, is coming back to print for another round. Dark Horse Comics will release a physical collection of the formerly digital-only Stone Star Volume 2: In the Spotlight in fall of 2023. The book follows series protagonist Dail as he continues to do his best to survive while trapped aboard a space station.

Here’s how Dark Horse and Comixology describe Stone Star Volume 2: In the Spotlight:

The nomadic space station called Stone Star brings gladiatorial entertainment to ports across the galaxy. Inside this gargantuan vessel of tournaments and temptations, foragers and fighters struggle to survive. A young warrior named Dail has been drawn into the ring and is trying to prove himself in the Grand Arena, but there are forces on the station determined to see him destroyed as revenge for his father’s fighting legacy. Stone Star is a prison and a palace. It’s a strange and dangerous home to orphans, criminals, and stowaways all trying to survive, fighting for a bit of fame and fortune before their time runs out.

The latest volume of Zub and Dunbar’s series was originally released digitally by Comixology Originals in late 2020 and early 2021. The first season of the series was released in 2019, with a print collection from Dark Horse that followed in July of 2021.

Stone Star Volume 2 is the latest Comixology Originals title to get a print release from Dark Horse Comics as part of the two publisher’s ongoing agreement. Other digital titles that have come to print either in collections or single-issue format include The All-Nighter by Chip Zdarsky and Jason LooForgotten Home by Erica Schultz and Marika Cresta, and Night of the Ghoul by Scott Snyder and Francesco Francavilla.

Stone Star Volume 2: In the Spotlight is due out in stores on Tuesday, September 5th, 2023. The print collection is available for preorder from Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and your local comic shop now.
