If you weren’t coming to SPX before, you are now: this year’s edition will sotlight Fantagraphics’ 40 year anniversary with a TRUE all-star line-up including: Joe Sacco, Trina Robbins, Daniel Clowes and The Hernandez Brothers, Carol Tyler, Jim Woodring, Drew Friedman and Ed Piskor.
Other highlights:
- Gary Groth will present the SPX Lecture at the Library of Congress on Friday September 16 at Noon in the Madison Building.
- There will be a separate track of programming at SPX 2016 dedicated to Fantagraphics and its creators, with details to be announced mid-August.
- Attendees will be able to get an SPX exclusive, a free newsprint commemorative booklet with artwork by Fantagraphic artists.
As is tradition, SPX takes place this year on September 17-18, at the North Bethesda Marriott. I’m told hotel rooms may already be sold out so hurry shurry hurry if you don’t have one booked. There will be over 650 creators, 280 exhibitor tables and 22 programming slots.
