Marvel continues its three-part Prodigal Sun story with this week’s Silver Surfer: The Prodigal Sun #1. In this installment, readers learn about Prodigal’s connection to the Surfer, which dates back to years ago.

The first issue in the interconnected series of oneshots starred the Fantastic Four; the third issue, releasing Aug. 21, stars the Guardians of the Galaxy. And although Prodigal is a new, alien being, he seems to have existed in the greater Marvel Universe for quite some time.

Marvel provided The Beat with an exclusive, seven-page preview of the issue, on sale August 14. Take a look at the preview below, then be sure to pick up a copy of Silver Surfer: The Prodigal Sun #1 at your local comic shop on Wednesday.
