Marvel are taking readers back to the events leading into Jonathan Hickman and Esad Ribić‘s Secret Wars, with Incursions, a series of five one-shots revealing more of the battles that unfolded before the multiverse was destroyed in the 2015 event. Writer Alex Paknadel and artist Jim Towe will helm the first release, X-Men: Incursions, which will pit the Days of Future Past and House of M timelines against each other this November.
The official synopsis adds, “In eight hours, only one can survive, or both will collide and be utterly annihilated! This devastating choice is left in the hands of Kate Pryde!” Paknadel comments, “As someone who sincerely relishes the challenge of dancing between the raindrops of continuity, this project was all my Christmases come at once. I got to tell a story about what really matters, and I got to do it against the backdrop of three (!) of the biggest Marvel events of all time. I really love my job sometimes.”

Spider-Man and Fantastic Four will arrive in December, and X-Men ’92 and Avengers will follow in January, after the MCU’s multiverse is presumably destroyed by the incursions in December 18’s Avengers: Doomsday.
X-Men: Incursions will be released on November 18, with covers by Gleb Melnikov, Ribić, an unannounced artist on cover D (which’ll be a homage variant), and Bryan Hitch, whose cover is a promotional one for the whole series. You can check out most of them below, along with an official checklist.
