Weekend Reading 70
Weekend Reading 70: From Krakow to Krypton and Monstress.

AVERY KAPLAN: This weekend, I’m going to be checking out Monstress Volume One: Awakening by Marjorie Liu, Sana Takeda, and Rus Wooten. Then, as far as prose goes, I’ll be checking out From Krakow to Krypton: Jews and Comic Books by Arie Kaplan. Just paging through it, I’ve learned that EC had titles called Shock SuspenStories and Crime SuspenStories… I can’t wait to see what else there is to learn in this book!

Weekend Reading 70: Catwoman: When in Rome

TAIMUR DAR: In preparation for my interview for the Batman: The Long Halloween animated adaptation, it occurred to me that I never read the Catwoman: When in Rome limited series from Jeph Loeb and Tim Sale that also spawned from their Batman story collaborations. So I’m gonna finally read it. I’m also continuing my deep dive into the original Suicide Squad run by John Ostrander in preparation for the James Gunn movie. It was a slow burn at first, but after the first couple of issues I’m now hooked. Starting the Doom Patrol/Suicide Squad crossover one-shot that will feature Weasel’s short term membership. It’ll be fun to see how the comic version of Weasel compares to the cinematic version as played by Sean Gunn. !
