With less than two weeks to go before its premiere on Disney+, Marvel Television has dropped the second trailer for VisionQuest, revealing more of the return of Paul Bettany as the amnesiac Vision, and James Spader as Ultron, as well as Thomas Shepherd (Ruaridh Mollica), the child formerly known as Tommy Maximoff on WandaVision.

Picking up from the first trailer’s reveal of Vision discovering one of his sons is still alive, this trailer essentially confirms the titular quest is a mission to rescue Thomas, who has become the target of dark forces seeking to uncover his powers. Among the antagonists we see in the action sequences are Todd Stashwick as masked mercenary Paladin; Lauren Morais as the cybernetic Lisa Molinari/Coat of Arms; and T’Nia Miller as the new female android Jocasta.

And there’s Ultron himself, who has been living “rent free” in Vision’s head since Avengers: Age of Ultron (thank god S.W.O.R.D. didn’t accidentally unleash him during WandaVision), continuing to be as hammy and bloodthirsty as ever, while appearing as both “friend” and foe. We also see Vision back in his classic color scheme, and a very brief glimpse of Emily Hampshire as Spider-Man: Far From Home‘s E.D.I.T.H., giving Vision an emotional goodbye before he leaves the safety of his mind palace with Ultron.

VisionQuest will premiere with two (of eight) episodes on Wednesday, October 14. It will mark the penultimate live-action MCU series for the foreseeable future, with Daredevil: Born Again set to wrap up with season three next year, and the last before Avengers: Doomsday hits theaters on December 18.

In the meantime, Marvel has made the first episode of 2021’s WandaVision, where we last saw Vision in the MCU, available for free for a limited time on YouTube:
