At its San Diego Comic-Con 2026 panel on Thursday, North American manga publisher Manga Mavericks announced an exciting new network to support indie creators in the manga space: the Independent Manga Alliance.
The Independent Manga Alliance is a joint venture by Manga Mavericks CEO Varun Gupta and Mahjong Pros Head of Partnerships and Licensing Harrison Doan. The IMA officially launched Thursday and will provide marketing, distribution, and sales support for independent manga creators and small publishers who want to expand their reach.
In addition to Manga Mavericks and Mahjong Pros, starting members of the IMA include Strict Algorithm LLC, Red String Manga, and Curation Entertainment Partners Inc. It is actively seeking additional partners, who can find more information on its website and social media (Bluesky, Instagram, and X).
