The queen of the toy aisle is returning to comics. Dark Horse Comics announced today a new partnership with Mattel to bring Barbie, the iconic doll and fashionista, to the comics page once again. The announcement was accompanied by key artwork of Barbie, set against the pinkest of pink backdrops, by artist Natalie Nardoza.

In a post on social media about the partnership, Dark Horse revealed little information, teasing that more information would come at a later date. It’s a safe bet that Nardoza, who expressed her own enthusiasm on social media, will be working on it in some capacity, though.

The forthcoming Dark Horse series will not be the first time that Barbie has graced the comics page. Marvel Comics published 63 issues of a Barbie ongoing series from 1991 until 1996.

Look for more information about Dark Horse’s Barbie comics as it becomes available.
