At the official Energon Universe panel during SDCC last weekend, Skybound revealed a trailer as well as covers and character designs from the smash-hit Energon Universe at a panel featuring comic creators Robert Kirkman, Daniel Warren Johnson (TRANSFORMERS), Joshua Williamson, Tom Reilly, and Skybound SVP/Publisher SkyboundSean Mackiewicz.
In addition, the panel announced the historic tenth printing of Void Rivals #1, the issue that kicked off the Energon Universe over a year ago in June 2023, and has gone on to smash sales records in just over a year. According to the press release, ‘this new printing is certified Skybound Gold to commemorate the rare achievement of a tenth printing and will feature all new covers by top artists in the industry to be announced.
This November will see the release of a new G.I. Joe ongoing series from Williamson and Reilly along with colorist Jordie Bellaire debuting on Wednesday, November 13.
At the panel, Williamson and Reilly revealed a lineup of characters from the series would include Baroness, Cobra Commander, Cover Girl, Destro, Duke, Tomax, and Xamot, and showcased all-new images of both fan-favorite and new characters. New covers to G.I. Joe #1 were also revealed for the first time, from superstar artists including David Finch, Brett Booth, Jerome Opeña, Sozomaika, David Nakayama, and more.
