With many major film studios planning to skip this year’s San Diego Comic Con, the door is open for the form of entertainment actually included in the convention’s title to take center stage. Enter DC, which today announced plans for a return to SDCC with its first show-floor booth since pre-pandemic. The booth will be the spot to purchase the publisher’s many exclusive comics, as well as to meet creators for signings.

Some of the comics DC will have available to purchase in their SDCC ’23 booth.

From the announcement:

On sale in DC’s all-new booth will be a wide variety of comic books, graphic novels, and new merchandise from DC and DC Shop. While supplies last, DC will be selling limited printings of Superman “Big Blue” Edition, Silver Screen Editions of Batman #655, Booster Gold #1Authority #1 and Supergirl Woman of Tomorrow #1, a facsimile blank sketch cover variant of Batman #655, SDCC-exclusive hardcovers for Nightwing Vol. 1: Leaping Into the LightPoison Ivy Vol. 1: The Virtuous Cycle and Batman by Grant Morrison Omnibus Vol. 1, plus limited-quantity chase product like the Sandman Helm Masterpiece Edition, and more.

The complete DC Shop lineup of comics, books, and merchandise will be revealed soon!

McFarlane Toys will also be on-hand with DC product available to purchase in the booth, as will trading card company Cartamundi. And if you’ve for some reason purchased a Bat Cowl NFT, you’ll “have a unique opportunity at SDCC” according to the PR. Will that opportunity be fungible or non-fungible?

The booth marks a return to the SDCC con floor for DC, after last year’s decision by Warner Bros. Discovery not to exhibit on the show floor as a way of cutting costs.

Along with the booth info, DC also announced their creator and panel line-up for SDCC. You can find that all below, or just check it out in person at the con, which runs from July 20th through the 23rd.

With a can’t-miss lineup of panels, talent signings, and interactive experiences, DC is set to deliver an unforgettable weekend of programming. Fans can look forward to engaging directly with their favorite creators by attending in-booth signings, including an appearance by DC President, Publisher and Chief Creative Officer Jim Lee and award-winning comic book creator, Founder and CEO of McFarlane Toys, Guinness World Record holder, and Grammy and Emmy Award winner, Todd McFarlane, and more.

  1. Actually, Mikel Janine should have been the book’s illustrator because he provided the creative foundation for King’s Batman run. The short stories that took place in the future timeline, which were better left as snippets, and the Special, which went in with Annual #2, were the greatest parts, in my opinion.
