Get ready for a revival of Disney Afternoon! During the Disney Channel’s annual Ducktales panel at San Diego Comic-Con International, the show’s creators Matt Youngberg and Frank Angones welcomed surprise guest Lin-Manuel Miranda, the voice of Gizmoduck, who made his SDCC debut with cast members Bobby Moynihan (Louie), Ben Schwartz (Dewey), Kate Micucci (Webby Vanderquack), and Paget Brewster (Della Duck).

If that wasn’t enough to keep fans on the edge of their seats, the panelists revealed an ensemble poster for the show’s upcoming lineup for future seasons, which is basically a resurrected ‘90s Disney Afternoon. Characters on the poster include Daisy Duck (who did not appear in the original), Goofy, Gadget, Chip, Dale, and Monterey Jack from Chip ‘n Dale: Rescue Rangers. There is also a grown-up Kit and Molly from TaleSpin, Gosalyn Mallard from Darkwing Duck, and a whole lot more.

It is not a shock that we’re seeing more from the beloved 1990s animated afternoon block. The series has already introduced Drake Mallard and Don Karnage from Darkwing Duck and Talespin respectively. With Goofy’s appearance, might we also see a Goof Troop revival?

Ducktales is a reboot of the popular 1987 animated series and follows the adventures of Huey, Dewey, Louie, Webby, Donald, Della, Launchpad, and Scrooge McDuck. The second season debuted in October of 2018 and a third season was announced just prior to the current season’s premiere. The show’s voice talents include David Tennant as Scrooge along with Danny Pudi (Huey), Ben Schwartz (Dewey), Bobby Moynihan (Louie), Tony Anselmo (Donald Duck), and Beck Bennett (Launchpad McQuack).

  1. I hope that Merlock the magician will also appear in season 3 of this series, and that his story is related to genius as in the movie Ducktales of 1990, and that if there is a vertiginous fall as in the end we will see it survive.
The music that I would have so wanted to hear for the reboot of Ducktales is the theme of the series 1987 and the theme of “Ducktales the movie treasure of the lost lamp”.
