During DC’s Batman Family panel today, Pete Tomasi and Doug Mahnke were announced as the new creative team for Detective Comics. The team will take over the flagship series with issue 994. Panelists also let slip that the Dark Knight will be returning to a more classic-style costume with the upcoming Batman #53.
This will not be either creator’s first time working on Batman full-time, as Tomasi previously wrote the New 52 Batman & Robin series, while Mahnke enjoyed a run in the mid-’00s on Batman with Judd Winick, as well as the occasional annual and fill-in on Tomasi’s Batman & Robin.
