It’s hard to believe that this year marks the 50th Anniversary of the Scooby-Doo franchise. That’s right five decades of everyone’s favorite mystery solving team composed of Fred Rogers, Daphne Blake, Velma Dinkley, Norville “Shaggy” Rogers, and of course the Great Dane himself—Scooby Dooby-Doo! Back in 2015, a new Scooby-Doo feature film, simply titled Scoob!, was reported to be in the works. In contrast to the 2002 and 2004 theatrical films that were penned by James Gunn (yes, Guardians of the Galaxy James Gunn) this time around it will be an animated feature film directed by Emmy-Award winning animator Tony Cervone who’s no stranger to the Scooby franchise having worked on quite a number of Scooby related projects during his career.

While it’s not the first time we’ve seen Fred ditch his iconic ascot, a part of me wishes it was retained. Perhaps he finally had enough of people hassling about his retro fashion choices.

Set to hit theater May 15, 2020, the voice cast of Scoob! includes the legendary Frank Welker reprising the role of Scooby-Doo as well Zac Efron as Fred, Pierce Gagnon as Young Fred, Gina Rodriguez as Velma, Ariana Greenblatt as Young Velma, Will Forte as Shaggy, Iain Armitage as Young Shaggy, and Amanda Seyfried as Daphne and Mckenna Grace as Young Daphne. Don’t think that’s all folks because Scoob! will be opening up the entire Hanna-Barbera universe such as Tracy Morgan as Captain Caveman, Kiersey Clemons as Dee Dee Sykes, Ken Jeong as Dynomutt, Mark Wahlberg as Blue Falcon, and Jason Isaacs as Dick Dasterdly.

Be sure to stay tuned this Monday when the first trailer is scheduled to drop!
