The studio behind League of Legends, one of the biggest competitive video games of all time, is making a change in leadership. Riot Games named John Needham, previously the managing director of Europe and North America, as the new Head of eSports. He succeeds Jarred Kennedy and Whalen Rozelle, who stay on in unspecified new leadership positions.
It’s surprising to see Riot make a major change during such a chaotic time for the company. 150 employees staged a walkout last month over their refusal to end forced arbitration for their prominent sexual harassment cases.
