Cartoonist Nicholas Gurewitch has been producing The Perry Bible Fellowship for near two decades. Though the cartoonist only updates the strip’s website sporadically anymore, the comic still has a loyal following, and for good reason. Each of Gurewitch’s short strips displays a darkly absurd sense of humor that is consistently wildly clever and often startling in its bleakness and hilarity.

Dark Horse Comics first published a comprehensive collection of Gurewitch’s Eisner and Harvey Award-winning work, The Perry Bible Fellowship Almanack, back in 2009. The collection included all of the PBF strips originally featured in numerous alternative newspapers around the United States. Now, ten years later, Dark Horse is issuing a 10th Anniversary hardcover edition of the Almanack with added bonus material like never-before-seen strips and sketches.

Check out a preview, exclusive to The Beat, of a few of the strips included in the forthcoming collection below. The Perry Bible Fellowship Almanack 10th Anniversary Edition is due out in comic stores on January 29th, 2020.
