An all-star panel of Star Wars creators gathered today at New York Comic Con to talk about why they love Star Wars, the projects they’re working on, and to take a look head at upcoming projects from Marvel Comics and other publishers. The Lucasfilm panel was moderated by Michael Siglan, with panelists Cavan Scott, George Mann, Justina Ireland, Katie Cook, Zoraida Cordova, Greg Pak, Charles Soule, and Christian Blauvelt in attendance.

The discussion covered a wide range of topics. Highlights of the talk were Cavan Scott’s forthcoming A Finn and Poe Adventure, a “choose-your-destiny” book which features extra side mini-adventures that tie through Alexa. The book’s scheduled release date is today.

On the Journey to Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, Mathew Riehnhart along with Kevin M. Wilson will bring us Star Wars: The Ultimate Pop-Up Galaxy. The massive pop-up book will open up to form a type of map, and covers stories from the movies and cartoons.

As part of Triple Force Friday, Siglan brought up Marvel Editor-in-Chief C.B. Cebulski to announce the road to Star Wars #75, which will be released in November. The ongoing Star Wars series will have the banner headline “Destination: Hoth,” and the series will end with issue #75, leading into the Empire Ascendant one-shot in December.

Following that one-shot, Marvel Comics will relaunch the Star Wars titles in January. Star Wars will be by the creative team of Charles Soule and Jesus Saiz, and will tell the story of what happens between The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi. Then, in February, Darth Vader will relaunch from writer Greg Pak. The events of that series will be concurrent with the newly-launched Star Wars series, and will explore Vader’s side of events, dealing with his past as he moves between Empire and Jedi, as according to Pak “his whole journey has been defined by loss and grief.”
