Legend by Sam Sattin and Chris Koehler has been one of the under the radar hits of the season. Published by Z2, the collection came out in November, and this post-apocalyptic tale of animals trying to rebuild the world seems to have hit a nerve. Not the least because of Koehler’s amazing art on the series – an ominous blend of dark shadows and sharply defined characters. And also because people love dogs and cats.

The creative team will actually be appearing TONIGHT at 7 p.m. Green Apple Books, 506 Clement St., S.F. More info.

With its animal focus, it’s also gotten attention from some unexpected sources, including both Catster and Dogster magazines. A rundown of the coverage:

DOGSTER How Your Dog Will Help You Through the Inevitable Apocalypse

VOLUME 1:  Paul Tremblay review

Koehler also made some inspirational posters based on the series, seen below, and I think you’ll all agree, we could all use a little inspiration now and then. Print ’em out for your bedroom wall! And hang in there, baby.
