Murder Falcon, which is writer/artist Daniel Warren Johnson’s new book about a grieving man blunting the pain of unimaginable loss via heavy metal guitar riffs that manifest a giant kung-fu fighting chicken, is somehow about to thrash even harder.
Or more accurately, it’s about to get a trio of new variant covers from top tier artists like Tyrell Cannon and Jean-Francois Beaulieu, Ryan Ottley (Invincible) and Cliff Rathburn, and Lorenzo de Felici (Oblivion Song), who are lined up to do variants for Murder Falcon #3 – #5, respectively. Murder Falcon #2 came out yesterday, so those covers are set to roll out from December on through February.
They’re also homages to famous heavy metal albums, with Cannon and Beaulieu’s homaging Bolt Thrower’s War Master album cover, Ottley and Rathburn’s taking on Pantera’s Vulgar Display of Power, and de Felici’s going with Yngwie Malmsteen’s Triology.
