DC’s Fandome event is coming up this weekend (well, at least part of it), and along with it will surely be teases and reveals from DC and WB’s upcoming slate of feature film projects. One of those project is the Robert Pattinson-starring The Batman, and ahead of this weekend’s festivities the film’s director, Matt Reeves, has revealed via Twitter the logo for the film. The logo was accompanied by a new piece of artwork by Jim Lee featuring the Batsuit from the film.

Here are larger looks at both the logo and the artwork:

The artwork in particular gives us our first official look at much of the detail of Pattinson’s Batsuit, and reveals what distinguishes the suit from the traditional costume. Reeves shared a video test of the suit a few months back, and while it did include the high collar, it didn’t appear to feature the shoulder armor featured in the artwork, nor did it show off the gauntlets. Those have been seen in leaked set photos elsewhere, but this is the first official confirmation of their presence on the suit. The red featured in both the logo and the artwork also matches the lighting used in the video test for the suit, and the black of the suit pops well against it.

Following a reshuffling of the Fandome schedule, the panel for The Batman is now scheduled for 5:30 PM Pacific time on Saturday. Whether there will be teaser footage included in the presentation is unclear, particularly as production on The Batman was shut down in March due to the COVID-19 pandemic. With production on the film reportedly set to resume next month, hopefully we won’t have to wait too long to see some footage from the dark knight’s latest big-screen adventure.

The Batman is currently scheduled for release in October 2021.
