In video games meets comics-related news, Dark Horse Books is releasing a new art book called The Art of Marvel Snap. Available in stores on January 7th, 2025, this full-color hardcover art book showcases over 300 in-game cards that are featured within the game, all hand-selected by the developers of Marvel SNAP.

As a long-time player of Marvel SNAP, who was even featured once by Forbes for a strategy I shared about a combo within the game, I’m very familiar with how much branding the game provided for the company. When this game was released (and even now), it was pretty huge for Marvel comics. The card artwork introduced to A LOT of video game enthusiasts the fantastic work of several Marvel comic book artists for the first time to gamers.

Popular collector sets featured in the game showcased some stunning artwork and covers by talents such as Rian Gonzalez, Dan Hipp, Alex Ross, Jim Lee, Luca Claretti, Kim Jacinto, Peach Momoko, and Artgerm. Suffice it to say, a book dedicated to the artwork could be well worth it as a nifty intro to the comics brand.
