Announced last year during the D23 Expo and brought to San Diego Comic Con, the Oculus exclusive virtual reality experience based on Marvel’s biggest characters, Marvel Powers United VR is launching on July 26, 2018.

Also announced today is the addition of the Black Panther as a playable character in the game. Black Panther joins the announced line up of Captain Marvel, Deadpool, Hulk, Rocket Raccoon, Crystal, and Black Bolt with more to be announced. At launch, the game will have at least eighteen playable characters.

Marvel Powers United VR lets you team up with four other people as you build a squad to take on the forces of evil. During our time with Powers United at last year’s SDCC, I was blown away by how intuitive the touch controls were in the game. As Rocket, my view was noticeably from a shorter point of view than what my teammates were seeing. Flying in VR while blasting enemies with my space-age weaponry was one of the most satisfying comic based experiences I’ve had in gaming and I can’t wait to try the whole shebang next month.
