Marvel Comics has released their revised schedule for new single-issue comics and collected editions for the back half of July 2020. The schedule looks to be a return to normalcy for the publisher, with an average of a dozen single-issues and seven collected editions scheduled to release per week. The new schedule also indicates that Marvel will be sticking with Wednesday as their standard release date for the foreseeable future, leaving DC as the only publisher to opt for Tuesday releases thus far.
Most notably on the schedule are the first three issues of Empyre, Marvel’s first big crossover event of the year. Originally scheduled to begin in April, the first three issues of the series will now arrive back-to-back-to-back beginning on July 15th. Along with three issues of the main series, two tie-in miniseries and a one-shot will debut on the 22nd, with another two tie-ins and a one-shot following on the 29th. The other most notable inclusion is probably X-Factor #1, the much-anticipated new entry in the current lineup of X-Men titles. That series was originally to have launched in May.
With Diamond resuming regular weekly shipments of single-issue comics this week, Marvel is one of a few publishers to have nothing on offer this week, instead opting for a slower rollout of new books beginning next week. The publisher will alternate single issues and collections through the end of June.
