Buckle up, Star Wars fans. When Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge opens at Disneyland Resort this summer and at Walt Disney World Resort in the fall, you’ll have 14 acres of a new themed land to explore. To ramp up the excitement, Marvel announced on Tuesday that it is releasing a comic book tie-in, starting in April.

The five-issue mini-series will explore Black Spire Outpost, located in the remote world of Batuu. Black Spire Outpost is a hotspot for smugglers, merchants and travelers seeking particular thrills or black market deals. However, the First Order threatens their livelihood…

Writer Ethan Sacks and artist Will Sliney will helm Star Wars: The Galaxy’s Edge. In a statement, Sacks said, “For me personally, this is a chance to fulfill a lifelong dream that started back when I was four years old watching the opening crawl for the first time at the Astor Plaza in Times Square during the summer of 1977.” He added, “This new adventure … will have profound consequences for the Star Wars universe.”

Scott Trowbridge, creative executive for the Star Wars portfolio from Walt Disney Imagineering, noted the appeal of exploring this story across multiple platforms — including themed park lands.

“Working together with Lucasfilm, we are able to integrate back stories, introduce new characters, as well as reveal previously untold stories about fan-favorite characters and their history with the planet Batuu and its colorful inhabitants,” Trowbridge said in a statement.

  1. When I was a college student, I attended the opening of the new “Star Wars Hypercosmic Mountain” in Disneyland Paris in May 2017. It was unforgettable! This entertainment offered guests of the park go back to a distant galaxy and find themselves in the midst of a confrontation between supporters of the Empire and the Rebel Alliance. Visitors of Star Wars Hypercosmic Mountain can stand against the galactic evil side by side with Princess Leia and Han Solo, as well as sit at the helm of a starship and compete with the LED fighter. I wrote about this in more detail on WritingCheap, if you are interested, welcome to read it.

  2. Arp,

The bots are getting pretty good. I’m seeing more and more comments around the internet like these where it takes a while to figure out that they don’t quite make sense and are actually spam. If you’re interesting in reading more about this, you can visit my website at mycrappywebsite.com for more of my thoughts on the matter. ;-)
