During its D3 expo, Disney debuted a full trailer for The Mandalorian, the first live-action TV series set in the Star Wars universe, and it looks as good as the franchise’s movies. The Mandalorian features “a lone gunfighter in the outer reaches of the galaxy far from the authority of the New Republic,” taking place before the rise of the First Order.

Minutes later, Ewan McGregor stepped on stage to officially announce he will reprise the role of Obi-Wan Kenobi in another Disney+ series set in the world of Star Wars. The announcement confirms earlier reports that McGregor would return to the Star Wars universe after playing the Jedi Master in the prequel trilogy, beginning with Episode I: The Phantom Menace in 1999.

Although there are currently no further details regarding McGregor’s Obi-Wan series, you can watch the full trailer for The Mandalorian below.

  1. No, this doesn’t look as good as a movie. It looks like what it is: a TV show.

Hopefully some kid will discover Werner Herzog through this and will seek out his real movies. That probably won’t happen, but it would be nice if it did.
