In an announcement by Archie Comics made on Thursday, January 20th, 2022, another new one-shot anthology comic was announced, this one scheduled for release on April 13th, 2022: Fun with Little Archie and Friends Special #1! This adorable issue is just the latest one-shot anthology from Archie Comics.
Fun with Little Archie and Friends Special #1
The Fun with Little Archie and Friends Special will feature writing by Archie Comics Senior Director of Editorial Jamie L. Rotante (Betty & Veronica: Vixens), Shannon Watters (Lumberjanes), and J. Torres (who spoke with The Beat in 2021 about a story in the Archie’s Holiday Magic Special #1).
The anthology will feature art by Hunting (The Tooth Fairy Vs Santa), Adrian Ropp (Casper the Friendly Ghost), and Agnes Garbowska (DC Super Hero Girls).
Rounding out the creative team is Matt Herms on colors and Jack Morelli on letters.
According to the press release from Archie Comics, not only will be seeing the return of familiar “little” characters like Archie, Betty, Veronica, and Jughead, we’ll also be seeing other Riverdale characters making their “little” debuts, including Little Cheryl Blossom and Little Toni Topaz.
And on top of that, the Fun with Little Archie and Friends Special one-shot will be arriving at stores a few weeks before another diminutive incarnation of America’s favorite teenager! The first print collection of Bite-Sized Archie, a title that will be very familiar to those who have spent any amount of time with us here at Stately Beat Manor, will be released on April 27th, 2022.
