He already plays Thanos throughout the MCU, and will be the center of the action finally in Avengers: Infinity War.

He played the second Dwight in Sin City: A Dame to Kill For.

He was almost Batman in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.

And now, he’s the time traveling son of Scott Summers and Madelyne Pryor in Deadpool 2. Yes, Josh Brolin is going to play Cable in the upcoming sequel to last year’s R-rated smash Deadpool, and according to THR, he’s signed a 4 picture deal for the character co-created by Rob Liefeld and Louise Simonson. One assumes an X-Force film is surely a part of that picture count.

Brolin beat out contenders like Michael Shannon and David Harbour for the role that Fox has been on a tear trying to find the right fit for. It was even rumored the possible casting of Kyle Chandler as the character was one of the reasons original director Tim Miller eventually parted ways with the production (he wanted Chandler, Ryan Reynolds didn’t, so go rumors).

But here we are, with Brolin stepping in, he joins Reynolds and the already cast Zazie Beetz who is playing Domino. John Wick‘s David Leitch will direct the sequel and production begins in June.
