Image have stepped up with some smart marketing over the last few months, and today sees a darned intriguing teaser release from the company. Simply, it’s this —

invitation

What are they up to? If I were a guessing man – and let’s be honest, that’s basically all I ever do – then I’d suggest this might be when Image will be revealing the details of their next Expo.

OR we’re all invited to their Christmas party, with Chip Zdarsky dressed up as Santa and Jimmie Robinson handing round the eggnog. It’s likely one of those two things.

    Way to ruin the surprise.

  2. It doesn’t have enough information to qualify as a teaser, so it kind of misses an opportunity. Oh well, it’s only next Monday, guess I can wait.

  3. Does Image really do any marketing, much less smart marketing? Creators promote and market their own books. The only time I’ve seen the company become vocal it’s with their overreaction to a Pretty Deadly review or an insulting letter to retailers about reorders.

  4. They do their own marketing. They’ve been scheduling regular conference calls with the media about various projects, establishing teaser campaigns for specific books, and more.
