Image Expo is coming back, but unlike last year’s which functioned as a roll-up to San Diego Comic-Con, this one returns to Image’s home base ofthe Bay area. The event will be held July 2, 2015, at the YErba Buena Center fot eh Performing Arts, as in past events. Announced guests include Robert Kirkman (THE WALKING DEAD, OUTCAST BY KIRKMAN & AZACETA), Brian K. Vaughan (SAGA, WE STAND ON GUARD), Steve Skroce (WE STAND ON GUARD), Tula Lotay (SUPREME: BLUE ROSE), and Greg Rucka (LAZARUS), so you can guess these folks will have announcements to make.

The event is open to the public, and tickets are now on sale, with early bird pricing in effect: General Admission tickets available at $20 and Premium Admission, which gives more swag and more access, available at $50. Prices go up to $25 and $65 on June 1. Retailers and media members can attend for free.

I’m a little sad that this event got moved away from Comic-Con, as that event, held on Preview Night last year, presented a rare COMICS centric big media event for Comic-Con, but I guess Image, like every one, decided that it wasn’t worth the logistical effort and costs to try to promote comics at Comic-Con.

At any rate, the Bay Area version of the event is a lot more elaborate, and this one comes right before Comic-Con and after ALA so it should be bursting with news.

  1. I always look forward to these events, wondering which Image creators the company is going to snub this time.

That’s probably less entertaining for those creators, though.
